Initiation and Surrender

Here’s more about initiation being a “beginning.” During an initiation ceremony in Russia, Niranjana Swami once said this: “Surrender is not something that we simply look back and remember. Just as the initiates today may look back and remember the day they received their spiritual names. But they should not think that `O yes that’s when I surrendered.’ Because surrendering is an ongoing process. Srila Prabhupada, therefore, states in Nectar of Devotion that when one surrenders to a bona fide spiritual master and takes initiation from him, that initiation is the start, not the end.”
