Devotional service immunizes one from pollution in the age of pollution

We learn of the Brahma Muhurta hours being the best for spiritual advancement and understanding. This is why early rising and mangala arotrika are so strongly recommended for bhakti yogis. The Bhagavad-gita tells us: “What is night for all beings is the time of awakening for the self-controlled; and the time of awakening for all beings is night for the introspective sage.” Kali yuga may be compared to the afternoon evening where atmosphere of passion and ignorance tend to prevail. Diseases like cancer, insects like mosquitoes and flies, and freakish weather, and a reduced human life span indicate the inevitable pollution of the age. Despite this dismal “nighttime” for ‘all beings’ devotees, living in ‘the time of awakening” are happy and satisfied serving the Lord and His devotees and spreading the sacred teachings of Lord Krishna to ‘all beings.’
