Every day we recite the prayer, vancha-kalpatarubhyac ca, krpa-sindhubhya eva ca, patitanam pavanebhyo, vaisnavebhyo namo namah “I offer my respectful obeisances unto all the Vaisnava devotees of the Lord. They can fulfill the desires of everyone, just like desire trees, and they are full of compassion for the fallen souls.” This can be meditated upon endlessly. A personal experience of this truth relates to the use of my computer (on which I’m writing right now). In the late eighties Gangeya prabhu was my roommate in San Diego. His expertise with computers literally saved me from having to read thousands of pages of manuals. It was almost like I needed the knowledge without having to study, so how could this happen? I had to know about computers. It seemed impossible, as I didn’t have time to read manuals – yet Krsna arranged the solution. Even for such a seemingly materialistic activity, I found a Vaisnava who acted just like a desire tree, by sharing all his computer expertise with me.
