I’ve discussed desire previously, but I was especially appreciated of how Srila Prabhupada once described in one of his books. Desire is another way of saying ‘lust.’ But the word “desire,” not carrying so many negatives, is more easily assimilable when referring to something deceitfully alluring. Srila Prabhupada put in wonderfully, saying, “Desire is the concomitant factor of the living entity.” (Srimad Bhagavatam, 2.1.15/purport). Thus he says it’s ‘natural,’ but doesn’t condone it.
