Renunciation in kali-yuga

If we look, we can find the principle of yukta-vairagya right in the Srimad Bhagavatam and in Srila Prabhupada’s speeches and purports. In a very few select places in his books, Srila Prabhupada uses italics for emphasis. One of these instances occurs in a purport to the 23rd verse of the Chapter 10 in first canto. I’ll capitalize his words in italics since standard email messages don’t recognize italics: In the BHAGAVAD-GITA it is said that THE SENSES CAN BE CONTROLLED ONLY BY BETTER ENGAGEMENTS (clearly this is an allusion to 2.59). This also points out that we don’t even have to look farther than Bhagavad-gita. But it’s Srila Prabhupada’s life mission that brings this Gita passage into focus and demonstrates its importance and relevance to today.
