Sometimes I’ve mused at how Indian carpenters ‘pray’ to their tools each day before beginning their work. They are in fact thanking the Lord for giving the tools of subsistence. In the Srimad Bhagavatam, Srila Prabhupada states that “One can learn to show respect to everything for all things are parts and parcels of the supreme body.” (2.1.38/purport)
