In dozens of places Srila Prabhupada has told us that “variety is the mother of enjoyment.” He even said in public, “this is an English Proverb” (Nectar of Devotion lecture in Vrindavana on 9 November, 1972). An English proverb it indeed is. It was penned in 1826 by British Prime Minster, Benjamin Disraeli in his novel, “Vivian Grey”, volume 5, chapter 4.
