After reading of the hellish planets described elaborately in the Fifth Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam, one can become pessimistic. But the Sixth Canto provides relief, especially the Ajamila death sequence. Prabhupada writes in his purport to text 27, Chapter one: “Srila Vijayadhvaja Tirtha gives a similar opinion…Directly or indirectly, Ajamila factually remembered Narayana at the time of death (ante narayana-smrti) ” And, in the translation of verse 7 in Chapter two, Sukhadeva Goswami tells how the Visnudutas said, “Even though he did not chant purely, he chanted without offense, and therefore he is now pure and eligible for liberation.”
There is Hope
