Angles of vision

Mostly in the West, but sometimes elsewhere, Prabhupada cited the importance of making informed decisions instead of blind following. He often discussed how the Gita and other teaching should be understood as a combination of faith and reason. He often spoke of ‘angles of vision,’ and, on occasions, would cite different interpretations of a verse or philosophical point by learned acharyas. This reminded me of a quote I once saw and wrote down. It goes like this: “The pursuit of truth is like picking raspberries. You miss a lot if you approach it from only one angle.” This was reportedly said by Randal Marlin of Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
