There are instances in which one who is unable to engage fully in Krishna consciousness artificially renounces wife and children and advertises himself as a mendicant preacher. In a purport to the Srimad Bhagavatam we are warned against such activities: “…One unable to fully engage in pure Krsna consciousness should not give up his family, considering it an illusion, for by doing so he will fall into illicit sex life.” (Srimad Bhagavatam, 11.21.2)
