We’ve often heard that music is the universal language. And if popular music is an indication, that statement contains truth. But Srila Prabhupada is said to have taken this epigram a step further, saying that rhythm is the universal language. Tablas, congas, bongos, mrdangas, gamelans, dhunduris, cymbals, tambourines, glockenspiels, xylophones, tom-toms – it makes sense, doesn’t it?
