In a purport in Srila Prabhupada’s Srimad Bhagavatam, it is mentioned that the human boat is a “perfectly constructed boat” which, with the help of Krishna and the spiritual master, enables us to be safely and quickly impelled on our course. Obstacles that divert us from our course include words and phrases. Some theorists say that language creates reality, so we need to be alert. For example: a graveyard is now called a “memorial park,” a bar of soap a “skin cleansing system,” and an earplug a “noise filter.” These kinds of phrases take one away from the simple, straightforward designation of common objects. They are obstacles that impede our course. We need to keep on the path of honesty if we want to go back to Godhead quickly.
