In New Zealand, the “Demeter” certification is offered to organizations who qualify as “organic.” The move to have a “GE Free New Zealand” by 2020 has become a cause ‘celebre’ in that country, promoted by popular bumper-sticker slogans, and student protest marches through prominent streets in major cities.
