In Bhagavad-gita As It Is (15.14) the Lord says, “I am the fire of digestion in the bodies of all living entities, and I join with the air of life, outgoing and incoming, to digest the four kinds of foodstuff.” This is interesting for modern people to note, because it is generally thought that medical scientists understand digestion to be totally dependent on one’s physiological status, with no connection to a Supreme Controller.
