According to Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, Sadaputa prabhu, and many others, the astronomy we are taught is only partially accurate. The cycles of the moon and lunar calendar, the so called heliocentric universe or “solar system” we inhabit, and the nature of stars modern astronomers see, differ greatly from the knowledge in Vedic Cosmography. Sadaputa prabhu used to say that unless the structure of the universe is properly understood, our concept of the heavenly bodies in the sky (and those of many planetariums) will continue to give us incorrect information.
