In the Srimad Bhagavatam a nice verse tells us who in this world is happy. It says, “In this world two types of people are free from all anxiety and merged in great happiness: one who is a retarded and childish fool and one who has approached the Supreme Lord, who is beyond the three modes of material nature” (11.9.4). These are the words of the Avadhuta Brahmana. This is similar to the Srimad Bhagavatam verse (3.7.17) spoken by Vidura to Maitreya.
