On October 31, people in the USA observe "Halloween" or Hallowe'en. The tradition originated from the Pagan festival Samhain, celebrated among the Celts of Ireland and Great Britain. Irish and Scottish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. In some USA cities devotees carry out Harinam parties (in the USA many children dress as ghosts and hobgoblins) and many see the dancing, singing Hare Krishna devotees as part of the festival.
