Srila Prabhupada often cited renunciation as one of the six principal opulent features of the Lord. In this connection he mentioned that Maharaja Bharata, a great king, left his beautiful young wife, his courtesans, his delectable food, his access to the best entertainment of the time, his wealth and his whole kingdom to live in the forest as a renunciant. Srila Prabhupada also mentions Lord Buddha, who, as a twenty-something prince, renounced everything he had to search out truth.
