Pancopasana worshippers, Karna, and the Gayatri mantra, revere the sun. It's said that the sun is responsible for all life on earth. It's printed in The Teachings of Queen Kunti: "This verse [Brahma Samhita, 5.52] describes the sun as the eye of all the planets, and if one meditates upon this one can understand that this is a fact, for at night, before the sun rises, one cannot see. The sun is also described as the eye of the Lord. The sun is one of His eyes, and the moon is the other." In another place, it is written that sometimes Krsna Himself takes the place of the sun-god.
