The following passage calls into question the English epigram “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” In the Dig Darshini Commentary to Brhad Bhagavatamrta, page 731 (translated by Gopiparanadhana Das) it is said that “…without transcendental love, remembrance of dear ones becomes tasteless.”
