To Err Is Human

Of the four defects of a conditioned soul: cheating, illusion, imperfect senses, and making mistakes, the last one - erring - is a big one. The aphorism "To err is human" was first attributed to an anonymous Roman source, the Latin of which is "Errare humanum est." It was not until the eighteenth century, 1711 to be exact, that Alexander Pope was attributed with the saying, "To err is human, to forgive is divine." This reminded me that Srila Prabhupada once said, "I am 80% lenient."
