Kindness is a Virtue

Of the Lord’s six opulences as listed in the Padma Purana (beauty, power, wealth, influence, knowledge and renunciation) the ‘milk of human kindness’ (a Shakespearean phrase) or kindness, is not specifically cited. Nonetheless, the theme of kindness is pervasive throughout the lives of Vaisvnavas. In fact the ‘secret’ to success in the bhakti branch or Nam Hatta programs – especially in countries where preaching is underground – is nurturing friendly relationships with upcoming and new Vaisnavas who join the program. The geometric growth of Krishna consciousness in these areas is greatly dependent on friendly relations between the ‘older’ established Vaisnavas of ISKCON and the newly recruited Nam Hatta members who are slated to start their own branches and ‘cells.’
